Welcome to the first blog post on the Two Dog Glass site, thanks for finding us. I have been messing around with glass for many years. I have two kilns, two dogs, and too-much-although-never-enough glass. Sometimes I like to pile up shards of my favorite colors of glass, throw in a few strips of dichro and heat it in the kiln until those separate pieces become one beautiful slab of color, reflecting and refracting the light, mesmerizing, drawing you closer. What happens to those slabs? That’s a blog post for another day, perhaps a dreary winter day when we need that extra light reflected and magnified deep within the glass. I hope to post updates of the projects I am creating; tips on what to do—and what not to do; words and pictures and ruminations of the inspirations for my work. This summer sees a couple of firsts for the Two Dog Glass Studio: in July my piece “Wildflowers” won First Place at the Marin County Fair and in August I launched Twodogglass.com. Today there are no glass tips, just a thank you to Robyn and Cindy for making this site a reality.
